Refinishing Wood Floors: How To Do It?

Refinishing wood floor service is usually an expensive service, and in this time of economic crisis, we have to do things on our own as much as possible.  If you choose to refinish your own hardwood floor you will need to prepare some cleaning tools. You can buy these things from your local hardware.

 A palm sander or edger.
 A FLOOR SANDER
 20 grit and 60 grit sandpaper.
 POLYURETHANE (1 GALLON FOR MEDIUM SIZE ROOM, ESTIMATE THE AMOUNT YOU WILL NEED ACCORDING TO THE COVERAGE ON THE LABEL).
 wool push brooms cover and pole;
 YOUR PREFERRED WOOD STAIN (OPTIONAL)ROLLER AND THICK NAP ROLLER COVER
 
Step1

Open your windows, if not possible make sure the room where you want to refinish the floor is well ventilated. Sweep and thoroughly mop the floor properly. Move all carpets and furniture that stands on the floor you want to be sanded. 

STEP2

RUB THE FLOOR EVENLY AND SLOWLY USING 20GRIT SANDPAPER AT THE CORNERS. THEN RUB THE ENTIRE FLOOR USING FLOOR SANDER. RUB ACCORDING TO THE DIRECTION OF THE, THEN SWEEP OR VACUUM ALL DUST LEFT ON THE FLOOR. 
 
Step3

Then rub the floor using 60grit sandpaper the same way as Step2. Do not mop your floor using water. 

STEP4

THEN APPLY POLYURETHANE TO COAT YOUR WOOD FLOOR. APPLY POLYURETHANE 3 TO 4 TIMES WITH 6 TO 12 HOURS INTERVAL FOR EACH COATS (THIS DEPENDS ON THE DRYING TIME RECOMMENDED ON YOUR POLYURETHANE LABEL).
